Recommendations

This book is recommended for older teens. While this book has highly accessible language, the themes are very mature and I do not recommend readers under 16 years consume this product. The characters in this book all range from 17-19 years of age.

This book has a MC who is an unreliable narrator who glorifies inappropriate behavior. All other characters reject this  and show concern for this clearly and on the page.

This book also has some accessibility issues with the color of the text/pages. If you have issues with low contrast, I recommend reading the eBook. My sincerest apologies for this, I’ll be more considerate about accessibility in the future.

The Weight of the Stars

Features: Swearing, Underage Drug and Alcohol Use (mild: weed, cigarettes one scene with drinking, no dependency or abuse showcased), Absent Parents, Parent Death (off page), Child Abandonment, Mandated Reporter Neglect, Sexual Scenes (Moderate), Bullying, Hospital stay (Brief), Physical Violence,  Depression Mention (Brief), Poverty, Criminal Activity, LGBT Themes, Teen Parent,Mute character, Polyamory.

There is a line in this book that I have been informed is abelist where a mute character allows another character to think they’re deaf. I’m horrified about it and working on learning more about abelism and will do better in the future.

This book would probably not be best for people who have difficult relationships with their mothers because it includes child abandonment and graphic discussions of regret.

This is also an enemies to lovers book with considerable emphasis on them being enemies first.

Darling

Features: Swearing, Violence and Murder, Absent Parents, Foster Care Neglect , Child Neglect, Homeless Children Mention, Loss of Limb, Poverty, Criminal Activity, Police and Police themed violence, Kidnapping, Anorexia Mention, LGBT Themes.

This book includes allusion to age inappropriate relationships, off page. The perpetrator of this is apprehended by the authorities at the end of the book.

This book is also a high-stressor. While it is indeed being marketed as a thriller, readers have reported it as causing visceral anxiety.

This book would probably not be best for people who have sensitivity to grooming.

There is significant police activity in this book.

Lethal Lit: Murder of Crows

Recommendations

This book is recommended for teens of all ages.

Both this book and the Lethal Lit Podcast contain gratuitous violence, but it is handled in a way that would be appropriate for children aged 12-17.
